My Financial Journey – Part 2

I had no idea how the stock market really worked except lots of people would buy stocks and then hope to sell them for more than they bought them for. I remember my parents and relatives occasionally doing business with a stockbroker when I was growing up. The impression I got was that the stock market was risky and usually an educated guessing game and that my parents did not do very well at it.

My Financial Journey – Part 1

All throughout school we heard about the great nursing shortage, but here I was 2 months into the job hunt without any real prospects. I only had enough money for one more month of rent. I now realize just how much money I wasted over my first couple of years out of nursing school especially when I was a travel nurse. Had I started budgeting right away out of school, I’m sure I would be much further ahead in my journey to financial independence.
